Our Health Center is Needed for AccessWe are a rural area 40 miles from the nearest city of Klamath Falls, OR. Many of us do not have the resources of driving into the city unless a neighbor or friend will take the time to do this for them. We take care of people from surrounding areas as well that travel up to 40 miles one way to get treatment and are in need of care. |
Meeting the needs of our communityWhittier Street Health Center is in the midst of building a new medical home for the Roxbury community. In addition to meeting increasing demand, addressing disparities in health, and improving access to essential health care and social services for the community, the building, funded in part through stimulus funds, is putting people to work. Slated to open in January 2012, the 79,000 square foot health center has created hundreds of construction jobs and will allow for the hiring of over 50 new FTEs at the center. |
